The rise in violence is concerning,
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said after
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico suffered an assassination
attempt in a central town that left him fighting for his life
after being shot 3-4 times in the abdomen and also in the arm
and leg.
"We are really worried about what is happening, it now seems
there is no longer any limit," said Parolin on the sidelines of
an event at the US embassy to the Holy See.
"Naturally all this increases violence. relations are ever more
violent and there are fewer hopes of building serene and
peaceful relations".
