VAT take up 4.6% Jan-Feb

(ANSA) - Rome, April 7 - Italy's VAT take rose 4.6% in
January and February over the same period last year, the economy
ministry said Monday.VAT revenue on domestic trade was up 7.6% and down 8.2% on exports, it said.
Higher VAT proceeds indicate greater economic activity.
Italy is slowly emerging from its longest postwar recession.
