Concerns over Murray's flu before tennis Davis Cup matches (ANSA) - Naples, April 3 - As preparations finalized Thursday for tennis's Davis Cup quarter-finals, major questions were being raised about the hopes of Britain as its top player was struck with a flu bug shortly before meeting Italy on Friday.

Andy Murray, who is in Britain's top spot for the quarter-finals, was recovering from the flu in his hotel in Naples but was still expected to face off Friday against Italy's Andreas Seppi, who at number 34 in world rankings is 26 spots behind Murray.

James Ward, number 161, will face Italian champion Fabio Fognini, world number 13, in the opening match. "Andy's got some sort of virus which has made him feel pretty poorly over the last 24 hours in particular," Britain captain Leon Smith said, explaining why Murray missed Thursday's draw.
