killed on Wednesday in a suicide attack inside the heavily
fortified interior ministry compound in the Afghan capital
Kabul.
Defense ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said the suicide bomber was wearing a military uniform.
The bomber reportedly walked through several checkpoints before detonating his explosives in the latest attack in a wave of violence as the Taliban are threatening to mar a presidential vote over the weekend.
Afghanistan will hold a presidential election Saturday which will mark its first democratic transfer of power.
President Hamid Karzai is constitutionally barred from running for another term.
