(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 28 - Italy is to send aid for Gazans
fleeing to Egypt amid the Hamas-Israel war, the Italian civil
protection department said Tuesday.
Rome has responded to Egypt's request for intervention to assist
civilian refugees arriving from Gaza.
The request came through the European Civil Protection
Mechanism, which immediately took action to support local
authorities in managing the humanitarian emergency and to
coordinate aid from Member States.
The Civil Protection Department, in agreement with the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs, will coordinate, through the Remote Centre
for Medical Rescue Operations, the collection of medical
material that will subsequently be sent to Egypt. (ANSA).
