Soccer: Lazio lose Klose, Gonzalez for four weeks (ANSA) - Rome, April 8 - Lazio's hopes of finishing in the top six to have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League took a big knock Tuesday when the Rome club announced they will be without Germany striker Miroslav Klose and Uruguay midfielder Alvaro Gonzalez for four weeks.

Lazio said tests showed Klose had strained a muscle in his left thigh, while Gonzalez had hurt a muscle in his right thigh.

The injuries are a setback to both players' hopes of being part of their national teams' World Cup squads. The sides that finish fourth and fifth in Serie A qualify for the Europa League, but this season the sixth-placed team is likely to qualify as well.

This is because the winner of the Italian Cup also gets a place, but this season's finalists, third-placed Napoli and fourth-placed Fiorentina, are on course to qualify for Europe anyway thanks to their league position. Lazio are seventh in Serie A with six games to go, two points behind sixth-placed Parma.
